I will layout the overview of my environment and then dive into my question. I am also a junior admin, so I am still learning the ropes of my environment.
Two Domain controllers running Windows Server 2008.
DC1 IP 192.168.5.3
DC2 IP192.168.5.15
Domain name: company.local
Both Domain Controllers are located in the same building. DC1 has all the FSMO roles along with being the primary DNS server while the DC2 is the secondary DNS server. DC1 also host the DHCP pool for the 192.168.5.0 subnet
Some of my users are experiencing long log in times during when their workstations get turned on in the morning. One of the avenues I am exploring, which this post is about, is possibly DNS resolving or Group Policies getting hung up.
