This should be very basic, but I cannot seem to get my head around it this afternoon. This is AD on Server 2008 R2.
We have a few basic drive maps configured on the default domain policy, this all works fine.
I need to create some shortcuts to a couple of things, but only want these to appear on actual users computers, and not servers etc.
As a test, I have created an OU called "Users Computers", and simply moved one computer into here for now. I have created a new policy called "Users Computers GPO".
In Group Policy Management, I have selected the OU, selected to link existing GPO, and selected the GPO.
In the scope of the GPO, it is linked to the OU "Users Computers", and security filtering is set to Authenticated Users.
No matter what I edit on this GPO, nothing happens on the computer linked to it.
I have even tried creating a shortcut under "User Configuration\Preferences\Window Settings\Shortcuts" Setting a basic URL shortcut in here on the default domain policy works fine, and the shortcut appears wherever I set it. If I set it in the Users Computers GPO nothing appears on the computer.
Any help please?
