Server 2003 - Install Chrome via GPO to one subnet

I'm trying to achieve something I thought would be fairly straightforward, but alas not.

I'm trying to test the system behind install Chrome (via MSI) using GPO, which means I have to use one subnet wihin the AD. For whatever reason, it worked once, and I have no idea how - but now won't install again even though I've removed everything and started from scratch.

Here's my progress so far:

Group Policy Management > Group Policy Objects > New > "Chrome Install" > Edit > (This opens Group Policy Object Editor) > Computer Configuration > Software Settings > Software Installation > New / Package (Then I enter the networked location of GoogleChromeStandaloneEnterprise.msi) > OK > Assigned

Then I close Group Policy Object Editor and go back to Group Policy Management. I navigate through the AD to my department .. ie:

Group Policy Management
+ Forest : domain.local
__+ Domains
___+ domain.local
___+ mylocation
____+ my department

Then on "mydepartment" I right click and select "Link and Existing GPO..." then using the Chrome Install GPO I created earlier, select that.

As far as I was aware and what I'd read up on that's the basics, that should install Chrome on a machine within the "mydepartment" node, any user within. But it doesn't, and I'm not sure if I've missed a step, not done something -- just plain confused too!

Could anyone shed any light on this? What am I missing?
