Configuring Active Directory to deploy passwords

I would like to know how to configure active directory to offer 3 generated passwords to the user upon renewal of their network password. I have seen accounts operated in this way, but have never configured AD to do this myself. I'm not sure if additional 3rd party software is used or not....any advice would be much appreciated.
