What are the risks or problems when transferring FSMO roles from Server 2008 R2 to Server 2012 R2 in different sites with five RODC's replicating from the two domain controllers (2008 R2 was the primary site, now 2012 R2 is the primary site)? The sites are connected by a 5 megabit VPN connection replicating every 15mins.
Will it affect replication? I am just trying to organize my network based on my office location. The previous administrator had his "HQ" where the Server running 2008 is and I followed that until I had my own office and site to make the primary "HQ" if you will. Or is it kind of pointless? Thanks in advance!
