I keep going back to this same topic and still does not have a clear understanding. When I get sidetracked with other IT projects, I forget where I'm at. So here is my situation and I hope somebody out there canhelp meanswer my question today.We have our first Domain Controller that we put into production a few years ago and it is on Windows 2008 Server R2. We added a second just a few months ago on Windows Server 2012R2 thinking that if the first Domain Controller died, then the 2nd domain controller will just work.Then that's when theFSMO roles comes into the topic. I have read in Microsoft's website that there are FSMO roles that needs to be seized or moved.
