We are redirecting Desktop folders to the users profile on the server(s), also redirect My Documents. This works most of the time and is helpful since many of the users save on the desktop -- if we didn't redirect, those files would not be getting backed up.
Several of our buildings are connected via slow T1 lines. When the T1 connection gets saturated clients will temporarily lose connection to the file server at HQ -- their desktop icons and files get "greyed" out and are not available until they hit F5 to refresh the desktop or sometimes they have to log out completely.
Looking for any best practices in this area. The goal is to make sure the desktop files get backed up. Would Offline Files be the way to go?
