Windows 7 machines on Windows 2008 R2 servers.
I downloaded the Cryptolocker Warning papers last year and enabled them to the best of my abilities. So now that my fear of being attacked by Cryptolocker has lessened, I have a real-world every day problem that's killing me. Because of the changes I made to help avoid Cryptolocker, now I cannot install printer drivers from the internet or run executable files on the computers. I looked up some info and followed these instructions:
"Try changing the security policy. Go to gpedit.msc-computer
configuration-windows settings-security settings-local policies-security
options.Change "User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt
for standard users:" to "prompt for credentials". This will result in
blocked programs prompting for elevation. When it does, enter your admin
password." from this website: http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/79526-blocked-group-policy.html then went back to one of the affected machines, did the gpupdate /force and tried it again and same thing.
I'm trying to install the drivers for a second monitor (they're j5create zip then exe drivers for a USB to VGA adapter) for one of the managers and any expeditious assistance you could provide would be awesome.
