Here is the problem. We had a Windows 2003 SBS domain. 3 other Windows 2008 R2 servers were added as domain controllers. We had issues demoting the SBS because it was stating it couldn't contact the other domain controllers, however our dcdiag showed that it had a total of 4 domain controllers and they were there. So we ran the dcpromo /forceremoval because we were sure the other controllers were there and that it was an error in a DNS entry.
Long story short, after doing so, none of the other domain controllers now seem to see the domain at all. They give messages about could not contact any domain controller in the specified domain.
And to top things off, the backup of the SBS is corrupt. Go figure. So now what?? I am at a loss and am ready to pick up my laptop and move to Bolivia.
I need some help.
