Group Policy Folder Redirection Changed

I had an old (Pre-Windows 2008) folder redirection group policy. The resultant path was

\\server\foldershare\username\My Documents

I created a new folder redirection policy, but this one is based on the most recent GP templates (Win 8.1/Win 2012). I set exactly the same parameters and settings as the old policy, but now the resultant path is

\\server\foldershare\username\Documents

So the "My" is missing, and now when my users logon, they report that their documents are "missing", i.e. their local My Documents is redirected to a bogus folder on the server.

I'm assuming the "My Documents" to "Documents" switch is one of Microshaft's many feature changes. Any ideas on how to fix this?
