I have been working on this issue for iover a wekk and not getting anywhere so I hope someone can point me in the right direction. We have a Win 2008 (Not R2) RDS server that connects to a SBS 2011 domain. About a week ago RDS users started getting randomly disconnected.
After much analysis, over a 2 day period we took the decision to restore the server from a previous backup that was 2 days old and still the problem remains.
Users get randomly disconnected from their RDS session, and and admin can't even disconnect them or do anything with their session.
Software behaves randomly and displays unual charateristics. Some services can't be stopped or started. A reboot fixes the issue but only temporarily.
Before the restore you could not log onto the domain from the server console, but you could via an RDS session. I could log onto the server using the local accoutn, but not the domain account. Once I removed the server from the domain and rejoined it I could log onto the domain. Very weird.
Is this showing symptoms of a Secure Channel or domain SID corruption? What is the best way to rectify the problem? Perhapes resetting the Servers domain account?
