AD/OD SMB shares issues

I have an issue that has been whipping my butt for several days now. I have a Mac XServe running 10.5.8 server. It is set up to be an AD domain member and is an OD master. I can authenticate to it with AD credentials if I am logging on from the server terminal. So, it looks like AD and OD are configured correctly (mostly).

My issue is I have several users, a mix of Macs and PCs, that need to access a sharepoint on the XServe. Everything works fine on the Mac client side. On the PC side of things, I've created a group, added the user accounts to the group and added the AD group to the XServe sharepoint permission list. However, when any of the PC users try to map a drive to the sharepoint, they are asked to authenticate. If they enter their AD credentials, it fails. If they enter a user ID that is local to the XServe, it works.

Obviously, I'm missing something somewhere. I need this to work with an AD group, so I can create a GPO to map the drive.
